Shims and Washers
What is a shim? A shim is a thin piece of material, used to fill small gaps or spaces between objects. Shims are typically used in order to support, adjust for better fit, or provide a level surface. Shims may also be used as spacers to fill gaps between parts subject to wear.
Aeronautical hydraulic and spacer shims are manufactured by ACE from critical aircraft grade stainless steels. We can also offer post plating and passivation operations to customers exacting requirements and specifications.
What is a washer? A thin, flat ring that is made of metal, that is used to make something (such as a bolt) fit tightly or to prevent rubbing.
Many different sizes, thicknesses and material types of etched shims and washers are manufactured here at Advanced Chemical Etching. For prototype to production quantities and for burr and stress free shims and washers, contact our Technical Engineers today to discuss your requirements.
